Light Up Richmond

December 1st to 31st 2023

Keep Hope Shining

Let there be light

Hope. Optimism. Togetherness. In 2020, these sentiments inspired the first-ever Light Up Richmond. With a desire to see – and spread – the light amidst a dark time, and to celebrate the Christmas season thoughtfully and safely as a community, Richmond came together to light up the city – literally. Putting their creativity to work, individuals, families, business and parishes decorated homes, headquarters, shops and churches, putting up everything from lights to nativity displays, to let Richmond – and the world – know that Christmas was happening.

Light Up Richmond 2023

Now in its third year, Light Up Richmond will turn on the lights once again, celebrating the season and reminding our community and beyond, to keep hope shining.

The switch flips on starting December 16, with the Interactive Map going live on December 1. So get set to bundle up, get together with family and friends – coffee, cocoa or cider in hand – and take in uplifting, unforgettable light displays on foot or by car.

Plus share photos you take and Light Up social media!
